Kotel
Today is a special day.

In many ways, for many people. Some are born today, some die, some get married, some finish a book, some spend time with their loved ones, some get apart from them.
Some see a good movie, or read a nice book, or write a poem or just rest. And some others work.

To me, today is a special day because I woke up this morning and am here right now. (It´s been a while too.)

I´ve been asked a straight forward question today. Not only me, many people has been asked. The question was:

“In what world do you wish to live?”

The answers of the people truely surprized me. People visioned a world without language borders, with one single idiom, they wished for one religion, for peace and respect, for a system where there is no money. And at first sight it should seem easy to subscribe to all this, but somehow I didnt feel comfortable doing so.

I have spent quite a while thinking about working social systems, considering all the “human factors”, the technical and spiritual aspects, the creating and the destroying.
And I came up with some ideas, untill…. at some point it stopped to be my main topic. I do have some ideas, i do believe in that we can substacially better our life circumstances by giving and caring, say, taking part in the process in an active way. But I realize now that it is all thoughtwithin the context of THIS world.
So… here is the question: If you could wish for one (Or create one) - would you want to change the world?

Some years ago I made a trip to Jerusalem, a city I consider a boiling energetical center, a very intense place. Its energy is so dense you can almost touch it. There is a tradition, (like in many other places too) that you can send a message to God, writing it down on a paper and sticking the note into the stones of the Western wall.

I was angry and had a severe conflict with God. My life didnt go at all as I was expecting it to, things didnt work out, I felt lonely and disappointed. I went there to have a serious talk with him and ask him why was all this happening to me. Since i felt it was very unfair. So I marched there, to the wall, hurt and desperate - and paused.

I tried to collect my thoughts to put them out somehow. Nothing came to my mind, I went completly blank. I waited some more, tried to remember my anger, to illicite the negative emotions, I knew I could talk from there, but they were gone. I really wanted to have that talk. But I couldnt remember the words, i couldnt feel the pain, I couldnt reproduce the speech I prepared at home. Nothing.

I saw myself from the outside standing there, struggling in a world that suddenly felt perfect. I saw my own lack of faith, and my own darkness in a bright shiny world. And than I started to cry, and those tears felt relieving and fresh, washing away the darkness from me. My mind however was slower and it was still looking for words in its blankness.

Untill it finally found it. The one and only thing I could think of:

“Thank You” and I would repeat it again and again, “Thank You Thank You Thank You…” crying, feeling true gratitude, living a faith in the universe I just got to see.

It was just a minute. And eventually later on, I slipped back many times into my own darkness and anger. But that short while thought me something very important. It thought me the perfection of the world, the perfction of creation, the infinite possibilities and oportunities this place has to offer. The wideness and the tightness of the very same word. The ways it expands and contracts, pulsating on and on. The way how there is nothing really stable in it, how it is ever changing and yet perfect.

So today I am asked in what world I would like to live. And I realize that there is no other world I would want to change this one with. I Love the diversity, I Love the different languages, I Love the fact, that everyone experiences God differently. I think religion is necesary for many people and I dont mind that at all. And since I believe in contrast I think the darkness is just as much part of it.  My life can have different qualities at different times and that is also thank to a world that is, as it is. I sure gonna learn from it, however it may turn out to be in the end.

That simple question woke my Love and passion for the world AS IT IS, and that makes this day very special.

And not only because of the many tens. :)

Negative Energy

We hear a lot about “negative energy” everywhere in esoteric circles, but none ever really know what it is. So it has the image of something mysterious and dark, something that destroys and comes right from the devil. In some circles you cant say “bad words” because they´re regarded as spreading negative energy. Or maybe they wont tolerate discussions. And they will always keep talking in terms of “negative energy”. I have been ponderning about this issue, since it never really made much sense to me. I think the term negative energy is abused, people pull it out of their magic hats whenever they experience see or hear something they dont like. It is easy to label a person with “spreads negative energy” and step over them, and many times this is exactly what´s happening. They mix up negative energy with darkness and leave the result undefined, just a plain bad something.

Success!

Success is usually our ultimate thermometer to measure our worthiness in what we do. Success is important to us and it defines in great strokes who or what we are. Since we know that our time is limited, it gets us nervous and the tension drives us to chase success - at any cost.

We look up at successful people, we envy them and we whish we were successful too. Or we´re not, than we want our children to become it.
Success nowadays usually is measured in money and wealth. You are rich if You are successful as You count as successful if You are rich.

There is one little detail though that people seem to ignore… Success and happiness are not the same thing. In fact many successful people are unhappy, because in order to succeed they have to give up upon a great deal of things. The truth is that our chasing for success has driven us blind and crazy.
Blind because we stop seeing what really matters, we stop taking part in other things, we work day and night to reach an imaginary goal when we think we´re going to be fulfilled and most of all when other people will look up at us as we look up at the successful ones now.

Values

Each time we have to make a decision, reflect on something, learn and understand things, each time we form an opinion about something: we reach out to our values.
Our value system is our inner compass, that is giving our thoughts their main directions.

Having said that, also needs to be said, that as we develop, our values change.
Another moment where we use values is when we set our priorities. What’s important to me? What has less importance? So, a value is a mind-thing, that is learned or inherited by education, external impacts, and of course widely shaped by the inner world of a person. So, there is an infinite variety of values, most of those adapting to mainstreams and others not. It’s yet again a similar issue as in the preview article. There are millions of people with millions of value systems, in order to control that, the mainstream values dictate the pace of the rest. If You take part – You’re an “innie”, if not, You’re an “outie”. That again is a social judgement on You, so you better beware and adapt. Nobody wants to be an outie. So, values can be and are manipulated. In our process of the disconnection and isolation, as to values – we completely lost the north.  It’s natural. We cant value something we don’t know.  We can’t value something we have no connection to.

For example loosing connection with nature is spiralling down to not valueing it – not taking care for it – loosing it.
Once we lost it, we don’t know even remember anymore what it was.

A practical example: “I need money in order to eat”

At what moment did we connect money with food? Can you eat the money?
It seems like the only way to obtain food, is paying with money with it. It’s not only not true, but it raises the value of money in the head of the people to heights that doesn’t really correspond it.  Simple fact is, that there is a variation of ways to obtain food. One of them is working for money and exchange the money for food. But in all this process what is the value? The money or the food? Strangely, although we say “I need money in order to eat” we value money much more than the food itself. Even after the exchange. Even when we are already eating, we think “oh, good I had money. Maybe I could have had the apples cheaper at the other stand.” Of course all this applies to a wellbeing society. People who are hungering know all too well the value of food for instance. People at war, or poverty. People who lost their wealth from one moment to the other.

In extreme circumstances false values will dissolve in the wind in a minute and we come back to the ground. We live in a trance of false values and that can become very confusing. Then, when the system that is based on false values collapses (because it has to collapse, and will collapse since the foundation is non-solid) then the values become clear. The point is that we don’t have to wait for the system to collapse in order to revise our values. It doesn’t have to be in a hurry, it doesn’t have to be a surprise, it doesn’t have to be an extreme situation.

This implies a lot of work, it’s a bit like living in a very dense and shady-dark forest, and in that forest each tree is an excuse to hide behind. If we want light, we need to get out to the clearing. That means we won’t be able to hide anymore.
We will have to step out of our comfort zone either ways willingly or not, because it is time to do so.
Real values will shine through slowly and we will have to learn to walk again, building a radically different, bright new future on a solid ground this time.

Entering winter/summer in south/north hemisphere.

Sometimes opposites are seen as static forces, for example, the idea of good against evil. However, they exist for each other; they define each other and that way they are able to exist also for themselves. What is needed is to pick up on the slight movement it does in order to change into its opposite, for there is nothing static in life; not even what we called The Essence, as it is better recognized as a permanent movement; a permanent variation that keeps balance. This is the idea of Tao, the Infinity, but it’s not only an abstract concept. It is there acting in everyday life wether is perceived or not. In general, we are not able to perceive “dark matter/energy” for itself, that is to say, the fact we are vast beings; an expanded consciousness towards life. What can be perceived is what it’s given in reality, what we can observe from our daily-practice and this everlasting movement is part of it. Yin-Yang Boomerang!

‘For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.’
‘What goes around comes around.’

Light and dark, good and evil, rich and poor, peace and war, bound and free, responsible and irresponsible, selfish and thoughtful… there are many examples of polar opposites. For any given force there needs to be an opposing force of similar strength in order to keep balance.
