The Earth is talking to us

The Earth is talking to us.

I personally don’t think we are listening much. It’s an interesting effect, that when something bad happens to us we limit ourselves to lament our own pain and the damage made to us, but we don’t usually ask “why is this happening” “what does this thing have to tell me?” and “what else is involved in this matter?”

The Good Morning

The “Gayatri Mantra” (Gāiatrī) is also called the mother of the vedas. It is one of the most sacred mantras of hinduism. On this record it is sang by Sai Baba who looks quite a bit like Jimmy Hendrix and is considered to be “Gods actual Avatar” on the earth,¡. It is not the best quality record, but to me it is the most special. Truth be told i dont know much of mantras or meditation, but this one had a very interesting effect on me when I worked with it. It´s like a harmony pattern that once “installed” (recited a number of times) it runs in the background and keeps a harmonical energy flow within. I didnt have to remember it anymore, it was running by itself. At least this is how it worked for me.

The text:

oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tat savitur vareṇyaṃ
bhargo devasya dhīmahi
dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt

“Unveil, O Thou who givest sustenance to the Universe, from whom all proceed, to whom all must return, that face of the True Sun now hidden by a vase of golden light, that we may see the truth and do our whole duty on our journey to thy sacred seat.”Listen here!

Images 2 - I am… What?

Onionizing about the self

What I’m about to write here, is a bit complex, I hope to be able to make it understandable. There are some important aspects of the self we shall gain awareness of. In my introduction about images I talked about our ways to model things in life by making images of them in our mind. The self image though is a little bit more complex issue. It has various layers that are worth a closer look. Continue reading ‘Images 2 - I am… What?’

What´s in it for me? - The E-Go

Why should I bother and care for You?!

To answer that question I need a clear separation between you and me, moreover a separation between myself and the rest of the world, so I will look to find a definition of myself. Am I my Ego? Ego defines itself like this: “I am what i have. I am what I own. ” I can gather things from the outside and make it mine, part of me. That way i can convert external things into the extension of myself.

Delving into the Darkness

What is darkness? Is it the absence of light?… Fear?… Evil?… Some guy in a shiny black metal outfit telling you that he is your father?

Within the darkness lurks the unknown. The idea of the unknown can be a disturbing or a frightening one. It is an unknown quantity and quality. You may be able to sense it but not necessarily see it.

The Engine: Willpower vs. Inner Strength

Here we are, let’s see what we have.

First of all we have some new perspectives to discover on the way to our very essence. We know we have the choice to explore these new perspectives by exercising free will and armed with the ability to respond and stand for our choices. Allowing ourselves to be wrong sometimes gives us flexibility and opportunity to start different ways and directions whenever we decide so. In short: we have the basic ingredients to lay down the foundation of our newly defined Inner Strength.

Central Station: RESPONSIBILITY

This ride may get a bit rough so, hold on.
One of the main reasons why we adopt external value systems is that if we do so, we stop being responsible for the things that happen to us. In other words: we can blame the system. It seems that blaming others leaves us impeccable and innocent. It is indeed a comfort zone we create in order to hide from reality. Clearly it’s the easier way, but certainly it isn’t a very rewarding one, if you take a closer look. Basically it’s a trap of eternal childhood in that we depend on others to tell us what’s right or wrong, what shall we do or not do, how we are supposed to feel or behave. It is a safe place, yes. But it is also slavery and dependency. It is also blindness to- and repression of- our real essence. We can say we are forced into this situation, and suffer. There are authentic contests on suffering out there… Who suffers more? Who suffers louder? And than there are other people, who pity. “Oh… poor thing… There is nothing to be done, how terrible!” I see pity as a tool of repression. It closes doors and keeps you under the water. It all has a very interesting self inducting dynamic:

So, where d´you wanna go?

We set our goals and by that, we give our life a direction, a tendency.
If we choose to live in awareness, we will sooner or later discover that there can be many different ways for us to reach that goal, and if we´re flexible enough and don’t cling on ideas about the way leading there, we will most likely get there. Yet, there is a bit more than that to it. When I ask people about their goals in life, they usually talk to me about happiness, peace, material wealth. They also go more specific and many times they name the objects of desire, like for example a big house, a new car, a family. All that can be done. And as we seen before, all that has a price. But where do these goals come from? This question leads us back to the subject of value systems. Each adopted value system tells you what´s good and whats bad, so in consequence, each value system that you adopt, will automatically set you goals. It will also mark a strict way to that goal, and with all certainty it wont be easy for you to walk it, because it is a rigid system that will force you to bend and distortion yourself in order to fit in. There is no other way around that, not to mention it’s the very point of such systems: to reshape different people into the same form, repressing their real self – gaining energy from it. Giving in few, getting out a lot. So we got a system here that tells us how to be happy, what to do to get to that happiness. And if we are strong enough and fight enough, some of us will get to that point.

So… let´s zoom in. Continue reading ‘So, where d´you wanna go?’
